Diabetic Foot treatment

It is important to look after your feet if you are diabetic. A diabetic foot assessment will test the sensation in your feet. We also look at your foot shape, check for hard skin, check the feet for small cuts and assess footwear. We carry out a vascular assessment to the lower limb which involves checking foot pulses, skin colour, temperature and asking questions in relation to your diabetic control. We also provide an information leaflet on looking after your feet and talk over this advice with you so you feel comfortable and confident checking your feet daily. Regular nail care appointments can be set up.

Swift for Verruca

Verrucae are caused by HPV and can be very stubborn to treat.  Part of this reason is that HPV stays in the superficial layers of the skin and releases anti inflammatory cells into the area which makes it harder for your body’s immune system to detect and fight. Swift treatment uses low levels of microwaves to treat verrucae by targeting the water molecules in the verruca cells, this causes them to collide and generate heat which creates a local immune response which kills the virus. The research shows around 75.9% of successful outcomes

MLS LASER

THERAPY

MLS Laser therapy is a completely safe, non-invasive and painless method of managing acute or chronic pain and inflammation including in the cases of arthritis or injury. The laser supplies light energy directly to your cells which encourages your body’s own healing process and reduces pain. Click on our info sheet below to learn more.

Nail Reconstruction

Using the latest Tripolymer technology. Medical Nail replacement is here!.
Developed to reduce overexposure risks and negate the downside of standard gel and acrylic systems Polygel technology is the most revolutionary system to date.

Nail reconstruction can be used to cover up and improve the look of damaged nails. It is more flexible which means it is shaped to fit the nail so it won't fall off like a false one may.
The nail can last approx 6 - 8 weeks.

Using aseptic technique and Podiatric skills, this treatment is the ideal option for patients who want an aesthetic look. Please enquire with our Nail recon expert, Christie, before booking.

Footscan & Gait Analysis

Our gait plate allows us to provide a more thorough analysis of how your feet function during the gait cycle.  Our pressure plate measures static and dynamic pressure of the foot. There are 4096 sensors at a scanning rate of up to 500Hz or 500 measurements per second. Not only that, but it also provides us with a detailed report, which we can go through.

A biomechanical assessment involves us assessing your posture, the range of movement in yours joints of the lower limb, foot shape, and any other further investigations of your presenting symptoms. This will include a treatment plan which may include exercises , footwear advice, footwear assessment and possible insole / orthotic prescription based on the conclusions / findings from the Podiatrist. If you have a sports injury, foot or leg pain then we can help diagnose this and put together a treatment plan that suits you. There are many different foot conditions that require further investigation with a bio assessment. Examples of these can include Plantar fasciitis, Severs disease, Achilles Tendinopathy, Sessamoiditis, Bunion pain and deformity of lesser toes, Mortons neuroma, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, diabetic foot changes / complications plus many more. To help us with your diagnosis and treatment plan, we require you to give us a detailed medical history and information on your current symptoms. Based on our expert knowledge, this will allow us to formulate the appropriate treatment options based on your needs. There are times when treatment plans need to be reviewed and altered as everybody is different. We work closely with our patients every step of the way to make sure that reviews and follow up communication is carried out.
